Grateful for Early Detection: A Personal Health Journey

Today, I am writing a different kind of post that is deeply personal. I want to share some recent news with you, as I believe it’s important to spread awareness and be transparent with those who have supported me and my business throughout the years.

Last Thanksgiving, I received the upsetting news that I had been diagnosed with colon cancer. Having been a hospice nurse, my disbelief was tempered and I was compelled to realize that whistling past the graveyard can go on only so long. I’m sure many of you can relate to the feelings that come with such a diagnosis, as it is something that affects so many lives.

But I am beyond grateful to say that my cancer was detected early which allowed me to receive prompt treatment that was done just 2 weeks ago, and I am relieved to say that I have had the cancer fully removed before it had the chance to spread.

I want to emphasize the importance of regular check-ups, early detection, and listening to your body. It’s because of these factors that I am now on a path to recovery and can continue to provide you with the services and support you’ve come to expect from me and my business.

While this experience has been less difficult for me compared to others, it has still taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, gratitude, and the incredible support network I am lucky to have. I am eternally grateful for the incredible team of healthcare professionals who guided me through this process and for the outpouring of love and encouragement from my friends and family.

While the journey to recovery has concluded as fast as anyone could ever hope, I want you to know that my commitment to my business remains steadfast. I’m excited to keep growing and innovating while providing you with the best possible service.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and patience during this time.

With immense gratitude,

Alan P.
